The Great China: Anhui-Baiji

It's better to travel ten thousand miles then to read ten thousand books
-China proverb

That proverb doesn't mean that the person too lazy to read a book, it's even better  when you are traveling you also reading or writing something.

The thing is, it will be different between when you are reading for example ten thousand book about china and you are really traveling ten thousand miles in China. Moreover, sometime  the book hasn't available yet so it's better to travel and wander, isn't it? Just like my traveling this time.

My traveling destination this time is visiting a rural village in Anhui Province, China. Many people know Anhui is the place for Yellow Mountain or Huangshan. But, I didn't go Huangshan, I went to Baiji 白际 instead。 Not so many tourist in this place, I'm the only foreigner there at that time but It's a lovely place. I don't really like the place that so many people go to. Also, what makes me like this journey even more is the budget trip. I only spent RMB 350 that includes, 8 hours bus from Nanjing to Baiji, one night accomodation, and meals. It's a good deal, isn't i?

After sitting more or less 8 hours on the school bus *not as comfortable as long trip bus, my journey start at 11pm and arrive at 7 in the morning, finally we arrived in the village called Baiji.

I know this trip will be good, after my sleepless bus trip, mean remarkable scenery and also dangerous, how can I sleep when I could see the cliff just an inch away from the bus. It's not kidding... the bus ride climb the mountain it goes around and around, what make it even more dangerous was the thick fog block your view. Really make your adrenaline rush it's really unforgettable.  I really want to take a picture of the road, the cliff and mountain but the fog covered it, i think it will be better to take a pic from helicopter and we can see a big picture...

These are pictures I took from the bus. I hope you can imagine how dangerous it is.I'm telling you it's a good experience...

After arrived, we set our lodging and get ready for our first day journey climbing the mountain..

this the village where we stay at.

It's a beautiful village with the river, not only fish live in a river here but also duck live happily. The more important thing is the fresh air, free from pollution.
We goo inside the Jungle.

The Jungle full of Bamboos, I wish I could bump into cutesy Panda but there isn't Panda here...

This scenery will company me you all day, don't get bored of it...

Strong granny, still wash the clothes in the manual way. don't need the washing machine... so environmental friendly granny.
small alley

If you want to chat with your neighbour just go to your porch, don't need mobile phone to text or chat.

Those are pictures about village and the local villagers. The village more rural since it hide by mountain, can't be reached by car, you have go inside the jungle and walk a long path to be there.... I always like the charisma of local villagers they have their own charm, which are purity, sincerity, and calm, seems doesn't have so much pressure on their life.

After village we arrived at a river and we took a little break for a while.

Return to the village where we will stay for a night,  I felt so glad.. finally... It's so tired for sure started at 9am and end at 6pm. Too bad I didn't count how many mountains we've climbed. However, the magnificent scenery paid all my sweat and tiredness. Thanks Baiji, you enchanted me with your beauty and thanks God for showing me your miracle. I want to sleep now prepare for tomorrow journey...

we've got special menu for dinner, one pot chicken soup complete with its head and feet.
